Gwen’s Girls is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting Black girls and young women through education, career development and community programming.
The Challenge
The organization needed to expand its visibility and communicate the importance of its mission more effectively across local, regional and national audiences.
It also sought support for event promotion, new initiatives and expansion efforts.

The Baker Agency developed a comprehensive communications strategy that included media relations, social media management, marketing and event support.
The team coordinated major events such as the Black Girls Equity Alliance Summit and created consistent content across digital channels to grow engagement and awareness.
Results
The campaign significantly increased media exposure and community awareness.
Coverage was secured across major Pittsburgh outlets, and CEO Dr. Kathi Elliott was recognized as a Women of Influence by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
The organization’s strengthened brand and visibility positioned it for continued growth and expansion.
